Angela Kinsey reveals which of her former costars is the most active in the "Office Peeps" text group, and who is "random"

The actress has been rewatching episodes of The Office with her kids, she also tells PEOPLE, and they have an issue with her character

The cast of The Office still stays connected.

While the hugely popular sitcom ended a dozen years ago, the faux employees of Dunder Mifflin are often in touch via a highly active group text chain called "Office Peeps."

"Interestingly enough, I feel like Rainn [Wilson] checks in the most, which is very sweet, and I don't think anyone's annoying, but the most random will be Creed [Bratton], and I think that's very on brand," Angela Kinsey, who starred as Angela Martin, tells PEOPLE. "One time, he made a little Christmas song with a Santa hat that flopped around. You never know what you're going to get."

Recently, Kinsey, 54, has begun rewatching the nostalgic show with her three kids, and they don't exactly like what they're seeing from her character.

"They started watching The Office with me, and they loved the show. They thought I was too mean to Phyllis. That was one of their biggest comments," she says, referring to Phyllis Smith's character, Phyllis Vance. "But then Phyllis did come for Angela Martin, too. They were true frenemies, I would say. They could not believe the scene, though, where she threw the Post-it notes in my face."

Kinsey has a daughter, Isabel Ruby, 17, whom she shares with writer ex Warren Keith Lieberstein. She is the stepmother to husband Joshua Snyder's children, Cade, 15, and Jack, 17.

Of course, that Post-it note moment was scripted, but off-screen, there were moments Kinsey cherishes, especially the times everyone would inevitably get "loopy" when confined to the show's conference room.

"We're all in there for hours and hours. You go into this one tiny room with a lot of people. The room is a lot smaller than you could imagine, and we would start rolling at 7 a.m., and let's say you're there until 5 p.m. in that conference room. That's when, in between scenes, everyone starts oversharing. They start doing silly bits and you start cracking up," she recalls. "It's almost like we were camping. Once you're in an RV with a group of people, at a certain point, you all just get a little loopy."

While her character was known somewhat as the "fun-stopper," she's different in the eyes of the kids.

"I don't know if they always think of me as funny. They think I make a lot of funny character voices and noises," she says. "I'm always doing something that probably is annoying."

Recently, Kinsey reunited with several of her former costars, including Bratton, Ellie Kemper, Craig Robinson and Oscar Nunez, to promote AT&T's latest small business ad, "Wake Up With CrAIg."

"It didn't feel like a job," she says of working with The Office stars again. "What's so wild to me is how quickly we all just get right back in step, especially just how we are on set together and joking around. I know exactly what Creed is going to do with the script, and we just all know each other so well, and it was so fun to just get to play again. It really made me miss getting to act with all those people again."

She adds, "I see everyone from time to time, but who I don't get to see are the characters, like Dwight or Erin or Darryl, all those different characters. I don't get to interact with Angela Martin anymore. So getting to even kind of tiptoe in that world was so much fun."

AT&T Business

Ironically, despite her cameo in AT&T's ad, Kinsey admits that her technology savviness leaves a lot to be desired.

"I'm an old dinosaur, but I live with three teenagers, and my husband loves a good new tech gadget, so I feel like between all of them I'm taken care of. They're going to help mom figure stuff out," she says.

In fact, she hasn't changed her cell phone's screensaver since Obama's first term in the White House.

"I get teased about this because I haven't changed it since my daughter was 4. My screensaver is her on my parents' back porch with a sippy cup and a little toddler chair, and she's now 17," Kinsey says. "She's like, 'Mom, change your screensaver!' "
