The highest-paid player in the NFL reacted to the new highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL being traded from his Dallas Cowboys.

Micah Parsons being traded to the Green Bay Packers remains a shock to some, even three days after Jerry Jones fulfilled the All-Pro's trade request. As a result, the Packers dished out a massive four-year, $188 million deal that became an NFL record for the most money paid to a non-quarterback.

Dak Prescott, Parsons' former teammate and the highest-paid player in the league after receiving his desired long-term extension last offseason, spoke about Parsons being dealt.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) sits on the bench in the first half of an NFL football game against the Detroit Lions in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024.

"I definitely didn't think he was going to get traded," he said, per The Athletic. "But just with the way their negotiations went down, obviously to some extent. It seemed like it got personal on their ends, so that's why I wasn't surprised."

Prescott added that he's happy there was an end result to the tension that was created between Parsons and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

"If nothing had been done, we'd sit here and y'all still would've been asking me whether he was playing in a couple days or when he was going to be playing," Prescott said, via the Dallas Morning News. "That would've been a lot more of a headache and distraction than getting a solution to it."

Prescott previously expressed confidence that Parsons would get a deal much like he and star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb did last offseason. He also thought it would be done before Dallas kicked off against the Philadelphia Eagles this Thursday.

Green Bay Packers Micah Parsons speaks at his introductory news conference Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

But the blockbuster trade was made official this past Thursday, with the Cowboys securing the Packers' next two first-round picks as well as All-Pro defensive tackle Kenny Clark in exchange for Parsons.

Jones had stated he wouldn't put too much worry into Parsons' trade request. But he justified the trade after making it on Thursday, saying that the move was made with the focus on success for the team now and in the future.

As the Cowboys and its fan base processed the shocking move, Prescott said that he simply told Parsons "good luck" while revealing the two shared some messages with each other after the trade. Players like Lamb and Trevon Diggs also wished Parsons luck.

The Cowboys will see him this season, though, with Prescott having to worry about Parsons rushing his pocket in Week 4 on "Sunday Night Football."

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Son Heung-min was left frustrated and disappointed after his long-awaited home debut for Los Angeles FC ended with a 2-1 loss to San Diego FC on Sunday night.

And while the South Korean superstar's legions of new and longtime fans didn't get to see a goal from their hero or a team victory at BMO Stadium, at least they got a glimpse of the tantalizing potential in Son's new team after it has a bit more time together.

"I couldn't wait for this night, and then I feel like I let the fans down," Son said after his first defeat in four matches with LAFC. "But we've got to (keep) our heads up and accept this result. We move forward and we work hard, and we'll be back stronger than ever."

Son finished with two shots on net and several strong attacking moments mostly after halftime during a tense meeting with Western Conference-leading San Diego in front of a raucous sellout crowd eager to welcome Los Angeles' next sporting superstar.

The most agonizing moment was when Son hit the post with a screaming shot in the 78th minute. He also forced goalkeeper CJ Dos Santos to leave his feet make a save late in each half.

But Son couldn't finish his chances, and his team couldn't rally in the second half after San Diego stars Hirving Lozano and Anders Dreyer erased the early lead created by Denis Bouanga's 15th-minute goal for LAFC.

The result left LAFC 15 points behind expansion San Diego in fifth place in the conference standings, even though LAFC has three games in hand.

Son has one goal and one assist in his four MLS matches, scoring on a beautiful free kick last weekend at FC Dallas. LAFC recorded one win and two draws on the road this month, stoking Los Angeles' anticipation of the longtime Tottenham star's debut in his new home nearly four weeks after LAFC announced the landmark signing.

The crowd roared for Son from the moment he stepped on the field for warmups in Los Angeles, which has the world's largest Korean population outside Korea. With thousands of fans wearing his jerseys for club and country, Son repeatedly waved to those cheering him on, and he exhorted the crowd into a frenzy right before kickoff by pumping his arms.

"I've been in amazing stadiums and experienced a lot, but today was very special," Son said. "I feel like the fans were amazing. That's why I'm more upset, because they deserved more today than one goal and zero points. They were fantastic. I can't wait to play at home again. It felt like really, really home, you know? They were welcoming me."

After a slow first half broken up only by Bouanga's goal, LAFC finally got rolling. Son and Bouanga were active and dangerous in the second half, but repeatedly failed to cash in their numerous scoring chances.

Son couldn't get a shot on target after a beautiful long pass from former Tottenham teammate Hugo Lloris in the 74th minute, and Bouanga was left in disbelief after he was unable to capitalize while alone against Dos Santos in the 82nd minute.

LAFC coach Steve Cherundolo wasn't discouraged by his star forwards' inability to equalize, and he sees promising signs from their new partnership.

"To be frank, it's been excellent," Cherundolo said. "We've had three away games and one home game, and we've created a lot of chances. Both of them are creating for each other, helping each other. ... We are definitely creating chances, and Sonny is helping us. We just need to be better at executing. Tonight, if you look at the stats, at (expected goals), the moments we had in front of goal, it's crazy that we walk away with nothing."

Son jumped straight into LAFC's lineup after playing a full season for Tottenham, capped by a cathartic Europa League triumph and a summer tour in Asia in which he departed Spurs with an emotional farewell in Seoul.

Son is leaving Los Angeles again for international duty this week, but he'll return with eight matches left in this exhausting year.

"When I come back from the national team, we have probably two very important months, so we've got to push for that," Son said. "We're still very excited."

NEW YORK (AP) — Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka are scheduled to face each other in the U.S. Open's fourth round on Monday.

Gauff, a 21-year-old from Florida, is the Grand Slam tournament's No. 3 seed. Osaka, a 27-year-old who was born in Japan and moved to the U.S. with her family at age 3, is the No. 23 seed.

They have won a combined three titles at Flushing Meadows.

Monday's winner will make it to this year's quarterfinals.

Here is what you about the most-anticipated match of the U.S. Open so far:

When and where do Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka play each other Monday?

The match will be held in Arthur Ashe Stadium. The exact time it will start is uncertain; that will depend on how long the contest before theirs takes to finish.

Gauff vs. Osaka is the second match in the tournament's biggest arena on Monday, after Andrey Rublev of Russia plays against Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada in the fourth round of the men's bracket, starting at 11:30 a.m. EDT.

So Gauff and Osaka could begin as early as 1:30 p.m. or perhaps closer to 2 or 3 p.m. — or maybe even later than that. There is just no way to know for sure.

How can I watch Osaka vs. Gauff on TV?

ESPN is showing the U.S. Open in the United States. Other countries' broadcasters are listed here.

How often have Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka met head-to-head?

This will be the sixth matchup between Gauff and Osaka as pros — and the second at Flushing Meadows.

Back in 2019, also in Ashe, Osaka defeated a 15-year-old Gauff in straight sets, then consoled the teary American afterward and invited her to speak to the spectators.

Gauff has won three of the four matches they have played against each other since then, so she leads the head-to-head series 3-2.

How many Grand Slam titles have Osaka and Gauff won?

Osaka owns four Grand Slam singles championships, including at the U.S. Open in 2018 and 2020. The other two came at the Australian Open in 2019 and 2021.

Gauff, who has been working with a new coach on her serve to try to overcome double-faulting problems, has collected two major trophies in singles — at the U.S. Open in 2023 and the French Open this year — and one in doubles.

Are you looking for the next big thing in the stock market? There's a chance it's hiding among the small caps, because these smaller companies often remain overlooked by investors. One way to gain exposure to the entire segment of the market is to buy a small-cap ETF.

Topics covered on this page: -

What is a small-cap ETF?

Top-performing small-cap ETFs

Are small-cap ETFs a good investment?

What is a small-cap ETF?

A small-cap ETF is an exchange-traded fund that invests in the market's smallest companies through what are called small-capitalization, or small-cap, stocks. Small-cap ETFs give you an easy way to buy the small-cap "haystack" rather than search through it for the high performers.

Small-cap stocks may sound small, but they're not usually that tiny. The total value of all their shares outstanding is typically between a few hundred million dollars and a few billion dollars. That's small for the stock market, though, where market capitalization can hit a trillion dollars.

Investors like small caps because they can offer higher potential returns than large-cap stocks, which are typically represented by the S&P 500 index. However, because they're smaller and have fewer financial resources, they're often riskier and more volatile, too.

Because of these risks, investing in individual small stocks is better left to more advanced investors. But even newer investors can buy a basket of these companies through a small-cap ETF and take advantage of the potential higher returns in undiscovered small stocks.

Are small-cap ETFs a good investment?

Investing in small-cap ETFs can provide attractive returns as long as they're purchased at sensible prices, but there are some drawbacks to be aware of.

Small-cap ETFs allow you to purchase a diversified portfolio of smaller companies for a relatively low cost. They also won't require the extensive research that investing in individual companies does and can be added to your overall portfolio quickly to boost exposure to the small-cap universe. Small caps can generate high returns as they grow and become larger businesses. Many of today's most successful companies started as small caps.

But one drawback of investing in small-cap ETFs is that as the most successful companies grow, they move on from being considered small-cap and many funds are forced to sell them to stay in line with their investment objectives. You also won't get the broad diversification that comes with other funds, so if an economic development negatively impacts the small-cap universe, you won't be protected. Small-cap funds also tend to be more volatile than funds that hold larger, more established companies.

(You may also want to check our list of the best large-cap ETFs and best mid-cap ETFs.)

Bottom line

Small-cap ETFs are an attractive way to invest in some of the market's fastest-growing companies at low cost without the same risks of buying individual stocks. But like all investments in the stock market, they aren't without risk and other drawbacks.

Editorial Disclaimer: All investors are advised to conduct their own independent research into investment strategies before making an investment decision. In addition, investors are advised that past investment product performance is no guarantee of future price appreciation.

How to choose a brokerage account

The best online stock trading websites offer investor-friendly features and fees traders can easily justify. When it comes to choosing which brokerage account is best for you, consider the following features:

Price: When it comes to fees, you're in luck — fees have been dropping swiftly and most online brokers charge no trading commissions on stocks and ETFs.

Broker resources: You'll also want to consider factors such as research tools, the quality of the digital trading app, and the ability to place trades quickly and reliably, among other details.

Strategy: The account you really want will ultimately come down to your personal investment strategy — including how frequently you plan to trade and whether you're a beginner or are more experienced.

If other features are especially important to you, such as customer support, then be sure to factor those into your decision.

BEIJING (Reuters) -A GCL Technology Holdings official signalled in a call with investors on Sunday that more information on a plan to restructure China's polysilicon industry would be released soon.

"We believe that clearer information should come out soon about the reform, and we will have a better grasp of how our future cash flow will go," GCL's Chief Financial Officer Yang Wenzhong said in response to a question about a proposed acquisition fund. He added it was "not 100 percent certain" that reform would happen this year.

Yang said GCL may use some of its own cash to support the reform but did not yet know how much, so was being very careful in managing its funds.

A previous proposal by GCL to restructure the industry, of which management did not provide further details in the meeting, would see GCL and other top producers buy up and shut down about one-third of the industry's capacity. Expectations are that would increase prices and the higher prices would be passed on to the loss-making solar panel industry downstream.

Analysts have said it is unclear where the money would come from in the highly indebted industry, although banks were likely to be one source of financing for the restructuring.

Yang also told investors GCL Technology would likely make a profit in August and September. Polysilicon spot prices have risen as Chinese regulators have signalled they would crack down on companies selling at overly low prices.

GCL's losses for the first half of 2025, before the anti-price war movement, widened to 1.78 billion yuan ($249.6 million), the company reported on Friday.
