“After many, many Met Galas, this was, too me, I love this exhibit. I’ve always been very inspired by art, and I went to school with Peter McGough—we collaborated, he hand-painted Anne’s dress,” Kors revealed on the carpet. The Greek Goddess of Peace is painted on the back of her gown, as inspired by the poem “Ode on a Grecian Urn.”

Hathaway has largely stuck to a color palette of black, white, and red, over the years at the Met Gala, so tonight’s outfit fits in perfectly.
Hathaway has starred in two films with Met Gala plots: The aforementionedDevil Wears Prada 2andOcean’s 8, where the film’s key heist took place at the event.
Still, she doesn’t consider herself a fashion person. “I view myself more as a guest,” sheexplained toV Magazine. “I think it’d be an insult to someone whose education revolved around it, whose life revolves around it, who has done a full fashion cycle in multiple cities as opposed to just, like, getting invited to a show and an after-party. I think there’s a degree of stamina and schlepping involved in being a proper fashion person. I’m very grateful to be a guest. I mean, I’ve studied it, but it’s informal. I’m aware of the history. I love fashion photography. And I’ve been welcomed for a long time and been shown great kindness and generosity by people whose lives it is. But I’m an actress first.”
