Jon Stewart is throwing it back to his smackdown days to make a point.

On Monday's edition of The Daily Show, the comedian reminded viewers of his past WWE arc while lampooning President Donald Trump's so-called "big, beautiful bill" in a segment in which he discussed how certain media outlets were framing the passing of the bill as some kind of dramatic showdown.

"Ooh, it surprisingly got through, like every other f‑‑‑ing thing Trump has wanted, from Qatari jet bribes to Epstein file secrecy to extorted media conglomerate protection money," Stewart mocked, adding, "I can't believe ABC paid that. That was so f‑‑‑ed up. I'll let myself out."

Stewart continued, "Sure, I wouldn't want to be ABC. But every time a new 'Trump's never getting that' comes up, the media is blown away when he actually does get it, without ever acknowledging that the 'no' votes from Republicans are scripted to allow certain senators plausible deniability without putting any part of the agenda actually at risk."

The late-night host then added that it all reminded him of "the way every professional wrestling match gets the announcer slack-jawed with shock at the stunning turn of events." At this point, an old clip played of of Stewart's surprise appearance at WWE SummerSlam in 2015.

After re-enacting his onstage pose for the Daily Show audience, Stewart joked of himself, "Look at old tubs. What a surprise! I can't believe he showed up there, like we rehearsed!"

Trump signed the bill in question into law Friday. The legislation extends the president's 2017 tax cuts and increases defense and border wall funds, while also including $930 billion in cuts to Medicaid, and other cuts to food assistance, clean energy programs, and student loans.

On The Daily Show, Stewart body-slammed the bill and its passing as a prime example of "general Washington bulls‑‑‑tery," and said its "central truth" is the "bulls‑‑‑ gospel of austerity."

"The gospel they preach anytime the country's finances are in shambles and out of control: Our problem isn't excess at the top, it's the sloths at the bottom," Stewart said. "It is such a f‑‑‑ing lazy and wrong trope."

He continued, "The problem in our country isn't the sliver of able-bodied people that are somehow coasting on the unearned medical coverage they may or may not use, but the millions and millions of people in this country who work f‑‑‑ing full-time jobs and still need food and medical assistance.

"That's the system that's broken," he said to cheers from the audience. "Fix that system."
