Von Miller will continue his NFL career with the Washington Commanders.

The eight-time Pro Bowler announced via Instagram on Wednesday that he plans to sign with D.C., four months after his release by the Buffalo Bills. The terms of his deal are currently unclear.

The Bills released Miller to save $8.6 million in cap space, ending a disappointing tenure that began with much fanfare. He was one of the biggest free agents of the 2022 offseason and opted to sign with the Bills on a six-year, $120 million contract, adding one of the best pass-rushers of a generation to an already stout defense.

Miller's time in Buffalo began solidly enough with eight sacks in 11 games, but he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving in 2022, an injury that stretched into the 2023 season. He posted zero sacks in 12 games, with zero starts as he became an ineffective situational pass rusher. He was also arrested on a third-degree felony charge of assaulting a pregnant person after an accusation by his girlfriend, but she later recanted.

Miller was still suspended four games in 2024 over the incident, and remained a part-time player for the Bills.

The Commanders will be hoping Miller still has something left in the tank at 36 years old. He remains a no-doubt Hall of Famer and the active career leader in sacks with 129.5, and will now be joining a defense that ranked eighth in the NFL in sack rate last season.

Behind reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, the Commanders have the sixth-best Super Bowl odds in the NFL at BetMGM at +1800. They've been one of the most active teams in the NFL this offseason, trading for Pro Bowl offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and standout wide receiver Deebo Samuel, plus a deal with another veteran defender in linebacker Bobby Wagner.
