<p>One person died and two were injured in an explosion that wiped out several homes in a Philadelphia neighborhood on Sunday morning, authorities say.</p>
<p>The Philadelphia Fire Department responded to a house explosion in the Nicetown neighborhood just before 5 a.m. ET on Sunday, June 29. One person was reported dead at the scene, the Philadelphia Fire Department shared in a social media post. 60 fire department members responded to the scene.</p>
<p>In a social media statement, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker shared that the two injured individuals had been transported to the nearby Temple University Hospital for treatment.</p>
