It was the first time since July that Junk (2-2) threw six shutout innings. The right-hander struck out four and walked one.

Ohtani (2-1) started on the mound without being in the Dodgers' batting order for the second time in three weeks. The two-way superstar gave up two runs, one earned, and five hits in six innings. He struck out nine and walked three while pitching on five days' rest for the first time this season.

Tyler Phillips worked the ninth to earn his second save, one night after blowing one.

The Dodgers closed to 2-1 on Will Smith's RBI single off Michael Petersen in the eighth. Freddie Freeman singled and moved to third on Smith's base hit to right field. Kyle Tucker popped out to shortstop and Max Muncy weakly grounded out to first against John King to end the threat.

Miami extended its lead to 2-0 on Kyle Stowers' two-out RBI single in the fifth.

The Marlins led 1-0 on Owen Caissie's sacrifice fly in the second that scored Agustín Ramírez, who got hit by a pitch from Ohtani. Ramírez stole second and was safe at third on Ohtani's throwing error.

Plate umpire Clint Vondrak got struck in the lower part of his mask by a pitch from Blake Treinen in the eighth. It knocked his mask off and, after being checked, he remained in the game.

Marlins catcher Liam Hicks was a late scratch because of illness.

Model Alva Chinn on the Battle of Versailles and Her Friendship with Yves Saint Laurent

It was meant to raise money for the restoration of the palace, and its official name was the Grand Divertissement à Versailles, but what happened more than 50 years ago at King Louis’s home is better remembered as a watershed moment for American fashion—and as the Battle of Versailles. Alva Chinn was one of the 10 black models on the American roster of more than 30. “My favorite moment,” she says, “was walking in the candlelit Hall of Mirrors after the show. I wasn’t thinking of myself as a model.I was thinking of history and how, though there was royalty present, the people were here to rebuild it.”

Town & Country Stylish individual seated in a modern interior space.

Chinn wore Oscar de la Renta. “When I first met him—Audrey Smaltz brought me up to take pictures forEbonymagazine—he said, ‘You remind me of home’. You can’t get past that kind of touching moment.” Signs of those times, when creative and model were connected, still appear to Chinn constantly. “I was in the YSL museum, and I was looking at this black velvet long skirt. I looked at the little picture, and of course I didn’t have my glasses on. I thought the girl looked familiar. And then I realized it was me!”

Chinn remembers when “energy was what made things really happen. You know? Oscar put me in touch with Valentino. I didn’t know anything about him, or couture, at all. I had to go up to his hotel, and he said, ‘Walk.’ So I walked. And then he said, ‘Do you want to travel?’ ‘Yes.’ The optimal word is yes. Three letters that make so much sense. He puts me in a pink wool, and he hands me a square card with a number on it. ‘You walk and show them your number.’ I knew I had to take my jacket off to show the blouse underneath. The sign was square, and the arm round. So when I walked to the end of the room, I threw the card into the audience and took the jacket off. It got me a job that I hadn’t been booked for in ItalianBazaar. Be authentically yourself. That was an affirmation.”

"HUGE thank you to the staff that worked through the night under terrible circumstances."

However, despite her unique experience with anxious feelings, Lorenze admitted that she did understand where much of her anxiety was stemming from, saying: "I was sort of like, 'Yeah, well, no s--- I have anxiety. I've been living my life in the public eye since I was 20. I've grown up on the internet. I have so many responsibilities. I have people picking apart my life. I have people making up s--- about me, but I also have people so many more people who love and support me, but are also holding me to like a very high standard."As a result, the content creator said that she often found that she had "undermined my own anxiety because of the circumstance that I'm in" and that she hadn't "taken it as seriously."She even opened up about experiencing social anxiety recently, something she said she hadn't experienced before in her life, as one of the factors that contributed to her decision to begin taking medication.

"With that being said, I am actually really glad that I decided to go on medication now," she added."I feel like I really had to like work through those things and I really had to work through my own triggers," she said. "I feel like for that, I'm a better person. I can really do a pretty good job at self-regulating my emotions."Of her anxiety medication, the lifestyle brand founder said that she has been "really, really, really loving it.""I feel like it's actually made a huge change," she said, before going on to say that she felt "invincible."Lorenze also said that taking the medication in conjunction with getting off of her birth control, prioritizing getting good sleep and working out had been the combination that worked for her.

Lorenze has been open in the past about the toll that her highly public life as a content creator and lifestyle brand founder with two million followers across her Instagram and TikTok pages has taken on her.Speaking with PEOPLEin November 2024, Lorenze reflected on her content, which she called a "highlight reel," and how she felt it didn't necessarily depict her "actual life.""The world is not just aesthetics. We're complicated people with real lives and real problems — and I think the hyper aesthetics on Instagram due to influencers can be harmful," Lorenze said at the time. "I just want people to view it as a source of inspiration, but not a Bible."

"I think there is something non-human about just... constantly talking about yourself, constantly you, you, you all the time," Lorenze said.

Trump attends White House Correspondents' Dinner, his first as president

CBS News Live 2 Live

CBS News

Donald Trump's is attending Saturday's annualWhite House Correspondents' Association dinnerin Washington for his first time as president, putting his administration's often-contentious relationship with the press on full public display. Also in attendance Saturday was Vice President JD Vance.

Mr. Trump will be watched closely at the event held by the organization of reporters who cover him and his administration. Past presidents who have attended have generally spoken about the importance of free speech and the First Amendment, adding in some light roasts about individual journalists.

The Republican president did not attend during his first term or the first year of his second. He came as a guest in 2011, sitting in the audience asPresident Barack Obama, a Democrat, made some jokes about the New York real estate developer. Mr. Trump also attended as a private citizen in 2015.

Past dinners have alsofeatured comedianswho poke at presidents. This year, the group opted to hire mentalistOz Pearlmanas the featured entertainment.

Mr. Trump's planned appearance is rekindling a longer running debate about the dinner and events like it — in particular, whether it is poor form for journalists to be seen socializing with the people they cover. The New York Times, for example, stopped attending the dinner more than a decade ago for that reason.

"What was once (a fairly long time ago) a well-intended night of fundraising and camaraderie among professional adversaries is now simply a bad look," wrote Kelly McBride, ethics expert at the Poynter Institute, a journalism think tank.

A contentious relationship

Between berating individual reporters, fighting organizations like the Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Associated Press in court andrestricting press access to the Pentagon, the administration's animus toward journalists has been a fixture of Mr. Trump's second term.

On the eve of the dinner, nearly 500 retired journalists signed a petition calling on the association "to forcefully demonstrate opposition to President Trump's efforts to trample freedom of the press."

"The White House Correspondents' dinner reinforces the importance of the First Amendment in our democracy," said the WHCA president and CBS News' senior White House correspondentWeijia Jiang. "As we mark America's 250th birthday, our choice to gather as journalists, newsmakers and the president in the same room is a reminder of what a free press means to this country and why it must endure. Not for the media or the president, but for the people who depend on it."

Many reporters who attend, however, consider it a valuable opportunity to get story ideas and establish personal connections with those in government, one that may pay dividends with returned telephone calls in the future.

Some news organizations invite sources as guests

Journalists often invite sources as guests at the dinner. It will be noticed Saturday whether administration officials who have also expressed hostility to the press will attend, and with whom they will be sitting.

The AP has invitedTaylor Budowich, a former White House deputy chief of staff who left last fall for the private sector. The invitation is notable because Budowich, in his role crafting White House communications policy, was a named defendant last year when the AP sued the administration after it reduced its access to the president because the news outlet did not follow Mr. Trump's lead inrenamingthe Gulf of Mexico.

"We maintain professional relationships with people across the political spectrum because we are nonpartisan by design — focused on reporting the facts in the public's interest," AP spokesman Patrick Maks said.

The White House correspondents will also hand out awards for exemplary reporting. That includes some stories that displeased Mr. Trump, suchas onefrom the Journal about a birthday message Trump once sent to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The story led to apresidential lawsuit.
