Spring has arrived and that means two things: It's time to get out your florals, andThe Devil Wears Prada 2is almost here.
The sequel to the hit 2006 film — which starredMeryl Streep,Anne Hathaway,Stanley TucciandEmily Blunt— was confirmed in July 2024.Many of the original stars will return, stepping back into their iconic roles in the glamorous — but evolved — high-fashion journalism industry years later.
The Devil Wears Prada 2began filming in June 2025, and it didn't take long before stars from the movie — including Hathaway, Streep and Tucci — were spotted on set, in costume as their iconic characters.
The original film, based on Lauren Weisberger's book of the same name, follows Andy Sachs (Hathaway), a recent college graduate eager to pursue a career in journalism. Andy ends up working as a junior assistant for Miranda Priestly (Streep), the editor-in-chief ofRunway, a fictional high-fashion magazine. Throughout the movie, Andy struggles to meet the demands of her job while maintaining her relationship with her boyfriend and co-workers, Emily (Blunt) and Nigel (Tucci).
Speaking about making a sequel, Blunt toldPORTERmagazine in September 2025 that the project "hasdeep emotional roots for a lot of us," and it's more than "just doing a movie."

According toVariety, the sequel follows Priestly "as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt's character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs."
The movie could also incorporate plot points of the book sequel,Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns, which was released in 2013. The novel takes place nearly a decade after the original and sees Andy and Emily come together as top magazine editors when Miranda comes sneaking back into Andy's life.

Streep, Hathaway, Tucci and Blunt are returning forThe Devil Wears Prada 2.
The core four will be joined byKenneth Branagh, who will play Miranda's husband, according toDeadline. In July 2025,Varietyreportedmore newcomers to the cast, includingLucy Liu,Justin Theroux,B.J. NovakandPauline Chalamet.Also set to appear in the movie are Caleb Hearon and Broadway stars Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora.
At the same time,Varietyalso reported that Tracie Thoms will return as Andie's best friend, Lily, and Tibor Feldman will return as Elias-Clark chairman Irv Ravitz.
Adrian Grenierhas been confirmed not to be returning to the sequel, andColin from AccountsstarPatrick Brammall has been castas Andy's potential love interest in the new movie, asEntertainment Weeklyreported in July 2025. At the time, the outlet also reported thatRachel Bloomhas joined the cast.
Ashley Graham,Paige DeSorboandCiarahave also been spotted on set.

Production onThe Devil Wears Prada 2began in June 2025 in New York City, and several of the stars have been spotted in character since.

AsNBC New Yorkreported, the movie appeared to be using the code name "Cerulean" — a nod to a memorable scene from the first movie — on signs that were posted near filming locations.
That October, Theroux shared photos onInstagramfrom his time filming in Italy and wrote that filming had wrapped.
"And with that... we are closed!The Devil Wears Prada Two is officially a wrap!" the actor wrote in Italian in his caption, per Instagram's translation. "Thank you Italy!"
Who is directingThe Devil Wears Prada 2?
Wendy Finerman, who producedThe Devil Wears Prada, signed on for the film alongside the original director, David Frankel.
The same writer who wrote the 2006 film, Aline Brosh McKenna, is also confirmed to be returning.
In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the film in 2021, Frankel and McKenna spoke toEntertainment Weeklyabout the potential for a sequel, sharing that the discussion wasn't fully materialized at the time.
"We had a meeting where we said, 'What could we do if there was a sequel?' Maybe it was stupid; we felt like, 'No, this story has been told,' " Frankel said. "Lauren eventually wrote another book following up 15 years later. We came to the same conclusion, that just following the characters wouldn't be the same."
McKenna added that it could be interesting to explore the world of magazines in the digital age.
"Magazines and publishing have changed so much," she said. "This is a period of time where [Andy] took a physical book to someone's house every day so she could leaf through it. Maybe they still do that, but I doubt it. It had its moment!"

Ahead of the full trailer, thefirst teaserforThe Devil Wears Prada 2arrived in November 2025. It showed Miranda's red pumps walking into an elevator at theRunwayoffices, where she's joined by Andy, who manages to catch the elevator just before the doors close.
"Took you long enough," Miranda says, asMadonna's "Vogue" plays in the background.
