JAKARTA (Reuters) -Indonesia's nuclear agency is still determining the size of the area affected by radioactive contamination linked to a scrap metal plant, with 10 points in an industrial zone near Jakarta found with high levels of exposure, officials said on Thursday.

The contamination was first detected in a batch of shrimp shipped to the United States in August by a local company also based in the Modern Cikande Industrial Estate, after which Indonesia began sweeping scans there.

"Hopefully, by early next week we will know the total size of the contaminated area," said Bara Hasibuan, a spokesperson for the investigation into the incident, adding Indonesia's nuclear agency would make that determination.

"We're not taking this lightly. For us, this is serious."

A scrap metal factory owned by foreign investors is being treated as the epicentre of the contamination, documents obtained by Reuters show, confirmed by another official.

Indonesia said this week it was providing updates on the probe to the global nuclear watchdog and the United States.

The same contaminant was also found in a shipment of cloves last week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

Caesium 137 is present in the environment mainly from nuclear testing or accidents, like Chernobyl and Fukushima, according to the FDA's website. Indonesia has no nuclear weapons or nuclear power plants.

Indonesian authorities have found 10 points with radionuclide radiation for Caesium 137, Environment Minister Hanif Faisol Nurofiq told Reuters, up from the initial six locations. The estate is still operating, but under close monitoring.

"We have declared PT PMT (Peter Metal Technology) as the epicentre with a 5 km perimeter," Nurofiq said, adding a special incident status had been imposed at the estate.

He said movement had been limited there and teams of police, military and religious leaders were going door-to-door to inform people of the danger and ways to avoid it.

Authorities examined over 1,500 local people and workers and found nine were exposed, spokesperson Hasibuan said, adding those had undergone special medical treatment.

Decontamination measures were being taken and special equipment used on trucks entering and leaving to ensure they were free of contamination, he said.

PT PMT deals with non-ferrous base metal manufacturing and grinding, and set up in the estate two years ago, according to Indonesia's law ministry registry reviewed by Reuters.

The nationality of the investors is not clear in the document, but it was set up by foreign direct investment. The company did not immediately respond to questions sent by Reuters to a cellphone number listed in the registry.

The estate, 68 km from Jakarta, covers 3,175 hectares and contains more than 270 local and foreign companies, in areas from food processing to automotive components, according to its website.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — The death toll after violent clashes between security forces and demonstrators in Pakistan-administered Kashmir rose to nine on Thursday as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sent a delegation to the region's capital for talks with the protest leaders, officials said.

In a statement, Sharif appealed for calm and asked the police to exercise restraint. He also said his government was committed to addressing public grievances in Kashmir.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, a minister in Sharif's Cabinet, wrote on X that talks with representatives of the Awami Action Committee were underway in Muzaffarabad.

At the same time local authorities reported a convoy of buses and cars was seen moving toward Muzaffarabad, the regional capital, for another mass protest.

The developments came a day after thousands of demonstrators armed with sticks and guns attacked police officers deployed in various parts of the region to keep roads open and guard government buildings.

Video footage posted online showed violent clashes between protesters belonging to the Awami Action Committee and the police.

The violence began earlier this week after an alliance of several groups launched protests demanding subsidies on food, electricity and other services.

Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, the region's prime minister, said Wednesday that his administration had agreed to accept 36 of the alliance's 38 demands — including cheaper wheat, reduced electricity tariffs, and local governance reforms — but he said the group had refused to call off its agitation and instead continued violent demonstrations.

According to a government statement, at least nine people, including three police officers, have been killed in the clashes. More than 150, mostly policemen, have also been injured, it said, as authorities transported some of the critically wounded officers to Islamabad hospitals.

Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the capital's main hospital on Thursday to meet officers wounded in the clashes.

A government statement said Naqvi praised the "courage and restraint" of the officers and directed doctors to provide the best medical treatment to them. He said that "no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands," adding that some violent elements were trying to destabilize the region "at the behest of enemies."

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Thursday the federal government would support American farmers in light of China's refusal to buy soybeans and that an announcement would be made on Tuesday.

American farmers overwhelmingly voted for President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, Bessent said.

"We've got their backs," he added.

Chinese importers have not yet bought soybeans from the autumn U.S. harvest during the trade war between Washington and Beijing, costing U.S. farmers billions of dollars in lost sales.

"It's unfortunate that Chinese leadership has decided to use the American farmers, soybean farmers, in particular, as a hostage or pawn in the trade negotiations," Bessent said.

Trump said on Wednesday that soybeans would be a major topic of discussion when he meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping in four weeks.

Almost every recent U.S. trade deal included a buying of American farm products, Bessent said, "so we're going to see other countries substitute for China."

He said a record harvest was also affecting prices.

"On Tuesday, you're going to see substantial support for the farmers, and we're also going to be working with the Farm Credit Bureau to make sure that the farmers have what they need for next planning," Bessent said.

It will be very helpful for Trump and China's Xi to meet in person and set the framework for trade going forward, Bessent said.

"I think with President Trump's leadership and his relationship - the respect party chair Xi has for him - that this round, which would be our fifth round of talks, should show a pretty big breakthrough," Bessent said.

This wasn't what we expected from Clemson and North Carolina.

Saturday's game marks just the second in college football history pitting a coach with multiple national championships and a coach with multiple Super Bowl rings. The other came when Joe Paterno and Penn State met Bill Walsh and Stanford in the 1993 Blockbuster Bowl.

But the Tigers and Dabo Swinney are 1-3 with only an ugly win against Troy. The Tar Heels are 2-2 in Bill Belichick's first year, with losses to TCU and Central Florida by a combined 59 points.

Clemson's offense is terrible. The Tar Heels might just be terrible, period. Rather than a must-see clash between Swinney and Belichick, Saturday's game in Chapel Hill is one of the saddest matchups of the regular season.

The drumbeat of discontent over Clemson's slide into irrelevance would grow even louder with a loss to one of the weakest teams in the ACC. From the Tar Heels' perspective, a loss would drop their bowl odds even lower and place Belichick on track for a miserable debut.

PATH TO PLAYOFF: Sign up for our college football newsletter

USA TODAY Sports looks at the team, game, coach and quarterback facing the most pressure in Week 6 of the regular season:

Team: No. 19 Florida State

Florida State opened the year with a win against No. 11 Alabama and capped the first month with a 46-38 loss at Virginia. The Seminoles are one of the biggest enigmas in the Power Four as the regular season turns to October.

The offense is obviously much improved, especially on the ground. FSU ran for 1,079 all of last season but are currently averaging a Power Four-best 336.3 yards per game. Overall, the offense ranks second nationally at 8.2 yards per play.

But the defense flopped against the Cavaliers and will be put to the test by Carson Beck and No. 3 Miami. This is a crucial rivalry matchup that promises to have a huge impact on the ACC race.

With a loss, FSU will be 0-2 in league play and down the tiebreaker to the Hurricanes. In this scenario, the Seminoles would need a perfect run through the rest of the ACC slate and some help to sneak into the conference championship game.

But a loss would be even more damaging to the Seminoles' reputation after a dreadful 2024 season and a dramatic offseason overhaul. To be taken seriously as a playoff contender, FSU has to beat Miami at home.

Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos (1) stiff arms Alabama linebacker Justin Jefferson (10) during the second half at Doak S. Campbell Stadium.Game: No. 17 Vanderbilt at No. 11 Alabama

Vanderbilt is looking to beat Alabama twice in as many years, something the program hasn't done since 1955-56. (The 1957 game ended in a 6-6 tie, the Tide hired Bear Bryant a year later, and the rest is brutal history for the Commodores.) Led by Diego Pavia, the Commodores swamped Utah State to end September and are 5-0 for just the second time in the modern era.

The Tide salvaged the first month by beating No. 10 Georgia 24-21 behind two touchdowns from quarterback Ty Simpson, who has 11 scores without an interception in four games. While the cast has changed, Alabama ended last September with a win against the Bulldogs but cratered from there in a disappointing debut season for coach Kalen DeBoer.

Losing to Vanderbilt would erase the good vibes coming out of the win in Athens and be nearly fatal to the Tide's playoff hopes with games still to come against No. 18 Missouri, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 13 LSU and No. 8 Oklahoma.

It's a prove-something Saturday for Vanderbilt. The Commodores' best win came last month against then-No. 10 South Carolina, which lost star quarterback LaNorris Sellers to injury in the second quarter. Beating the Tide would make them a legitimate playoff contender.

Coach: Steve Sarkisian, Texas

Sarkisian has dodged the spotlight given all the national focus on Arch Manning's struggles as the new starter. While that's been one of the biggest storylines of the first month, Manning's issues are simply a microcosm of the Longhorns' sloppy and often unimpressive play through four games.

The first two weeks of October will decide whether Texas makes another appearance in the SEC championship game. First comes a road trip to Florida as roughly touchdown favorites, followed by No. 8 Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl.

The Gators are capable of pulling off the upset if they can protect the football and awaken an unproductive running game. That Florida has been pathetic on early downs has set up quarterback DJ Lagway up for failure during this three-game losing streak to South Florida, LSU and Miami.

Looking ahead one week, Oklahoma will be without quarterback John Mateer and will use backup Michael Hawkins Jr., who started last year's 34-3 loss to the Longhorns. Hawkins and the Sooners will have a tune-up game this Saturday against Kent State.

This crucial two-game stretch that will decide the Longhorns' season. After a rocky month, Sarkisian has to get Texas back on track to avoid a loss that could cripple its postseason résumé.

Quarterback: CJ Carr, Notre Dame

Carr and the No. 21 Fighting Irish rebounded from losses to No. 3 Miami and No. 6 Texas A&M by routing Purdue and Arkansas. The redshirt freshman has thrown six touchdowns and averaged a whopping 13.8 yards per attempt in these two Power Four wins.

A productive passing game has helped open things up on the ground. After going for 229 yards on 3.4 yards per carry against the Hurricanes and Aggies, the Irish have 464 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground against the Boilermakers and Razorbacks.

Things should be a little more difficult against Boise State, which gave up just 65 yards on 28 attempts in last week's 47-14 win against Appalachian State. Overall, the Broncos are allowing opponents to complete 55.5% of attempts with four touchdowns and five interceptions.

The Broncos' national credibility makes this one of the most important games on Notre Dame's remaining schedule, perhaps exceeded only by the matchup with Southern California later this month.

Rankings – and the debates those create – fuel the NBA, more so than any of the major domestic sports leagues.

Player rankings in particular span generations and eras, showcasing the league's elite starpower. We enlisted 12 NBA experts across the USA TODAY Network and asked them to rank a field of 40 players, taking the weighted average to generate the USA TODAY Sports Top 25 NBA player rankings for the 2025-26 season.

For the purposes of this year's rankings, we have omitted star players who are likely to miss at least the majority of the season due to injury – players like Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton and Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving.

Who topped our rankings? Check out our countdown from 25 to 1 below. And if you disagree, tell us why by dropping a note to Lorenzo Reyes at [email protected].

1 / 25Top 25 players in the NBA ahead of the 2025-26 season25. Ja Morant, guard, Memphis GrizzliesUSA TODAY Sports' Top 25 NBA players rankings25. Ja Morant, guard, Memphis Grizzlies

2024-25 stats: 23.2 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.3 apg

Injuries have taken their toll on Ja Morant over the last two years, but fans haven't forgotten just how impactful he can be when he's on the court. Never much of a three-point shooter, Morant is someone who can slash and dominate inside, which is tough to do for someone his size (6-foot-2). He's a strong, athletic player who can take over games. In his last fully-healthy season (2022-23), Morant finished 12th in MVP voting and averaged more than 26.2 points per game.

Last season's ranking: 26th

24. Pascal Siakam, forward, Indiana Pacers

2024-25 stats: 20.2 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 3.4 apg

Siakam played a key role in the Pacers' success last season. He was named an All-Star for the third time in his career and won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP after leading the Pacers past the New York Knicks in a six-game series.

Last season's ranking: not ranked

23. James Harden, guard, Los Angeles Clippers

2024-25 stats: 22.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 8.7 apg

It was a resurgent 2024-25 season for Harden, who earned all-NBA honors for the first time since 2020 when he was still with the Houston Rockets. Though Harden's shooting numbers dipped while playing mostly point guard for the Clippers, his scoring average was the highest it had been in five years. His free throw, rebound and assist rate also improved, and he appeared in more games (78) than he had in almost a decade.

Last season's ranking: not ranked

22. Jimmy Butler, forward, Golden State Warriors

2024-25 stats: 17.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.4 apg

Butler isn't ranked here for his regular-season play; it's "Playoff Jimmy" where the now 36-year-old has proven himself over the years. But, as he gets older, the question is whether he has enough left in the tank to help push the Warriors to another championship run in the competitive Western Conference.

Last season's ranking: 25th

Looking back at Jimmy Butler III's first day as a Golden State Warrior 💛💙#BESTofNBA pic.twitter.com/hGngUFyiNk

— Golden State Warriors (@warriors) September 8, 2025

21. Evan Mobley, forward, Cleveland Cavaliers

2024-25 stats: 18.5 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 3.2 apg

The reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Mobley is much more than a lengthy stopper. Coach Kenny Atkinson has empowered Mobley to be a stretch forward who can knock down shots from the corner just as easily as he can go to work in the low block. He only just turned 24 in June and finished 10th in MVP voting last season. A further leap could be incoming.

Last season's ranking: not ranked

20. Jaylen Brown, guard, Boston Celtics

2024-25 stats: 22.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 4.5 apg

The best players in the world are those who can rise to the occasion when their teammates struggle. Brown is that guy. When Jayson Tatum struggled in the 2024 NBA Finals, Brown earned Finals MVP. In fact, the only game the Celtics lost to Dallas in that series was one in which Brown struggled to score (3 of 12 from the field in Game 4). Regardless, Brown is dependable and might be the best No. 2 in the league. With Jayson Tatum likely out for the year, we'll see if Brown can once again elevate himself to the level the Celtics need from him.

Last season's ranking: 15th

19. Joel Embiid, center, Philadelphia 76ers

2024-25 stats: 23.2 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 4.5 apg

Embiid played just 19 games due to a knee injury, in what was a disastrous season for the 76ers. When healthy, Embiid shot 44.4% from the field. He could help lead Philly back to the postseason, but he needs to be on the floor. Embiid was the most polarizing player on the list; he was ranked as high as 5th and as low as 38th.

Last season's ranking: 5th

FEELING 'PRETTY GOOD': Sixers' Joel Embiid provides health update

18. Karl-Anthony Towns, forward-center, New York Knicks

New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns dunks during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Indiana Pacers on May 27, 2025.

2024-25 stats: 24.4 ppg, 12.8 rpg, 3.1 apg

Towns jumps in the rankings after a successful first season with the Knicks in which he earned all-NBA honors for the third time in his 10-year career and fit in well alongside fellow All-Star Jalen Brunson. One of the best 3-point shooting big men in history could see a boost in his numbers playing at a faster tempo under new Knicks coach Mike Brown.

Last season's ranking: 30th

17. Jalen Williams, forward, Oklahoma City Thunder

2024-25 stats: 21.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 5.1 apg

An elite two-way player – he made both the All-NBA and All-Defensive teams – Williams' meteoric rise (he is entering just his fourth NBA season) will help the Thunder and their young core stay in the championship conversation. He signed a new five-year, maximum rookie contract extension that could reach $287 million.

Last season's ranking: not ranked

16. Paolo Banchero, forward, Orlando Magic

2024-25 stats: 25.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 4.8 apg

Banchero was sidelined in the first half of the season with a torn oblique, but he returned to post career highs in points and rebounds in 46 games. He'll turn just 23 in mid-November and has diversified his offensive portfolio to include a silky mid-range, straight-line drives to the basket and occasional hits from three-point range.

Last season's ranking: 28th

15. Devin Booker, guard, Phoenix Suns

2024-25 stats: 25.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.1 apg

One of the best pure scorers in the NBA, Booker has the potential to absolutely take over any game. You might blink, and then, all of a sudden, he'll have 50. In fact, he's the only player younger than 30 with eight or more 50-point games. Though Booker was not an All-Star last season, his scoring prowess makes him an easy fit on almost any team in the NBA. He has tallied at least 25 points per game in seven consecutive seasons. This season in Phoenix, with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal gone, the show is his to run.

Last season's ranking: 13th

14. Kawhi Leonard, forward, Los Angeles Clippers

2024-25 stats: 21.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 3.1 apg

Leonard played just 37 regular-season games, missing the start of the campaign with knee inflammation, but he was healthy for the Clippers in the playoffs. And while he was ineligible for postseason awards, he was tabbed as the NBA Player of the Week for Week 24 of the season (March 31-April 6). He'll be facing the NBA-backed investigation on salary cap circumvention, but now at 34, health also remains a concern.

Last season's ranking: 14th

LEONARD: Denies any wrongdoing by Clippers in alleged 'no-show' deal

13. Anthony Davis, forward-center, Dallas Mavericks

2024-25 stats: 24.7 ppg, 11.6 rpg, 3.5 apg

Davis is a feared defensive anchor and powerful interior offensive option – when healthy – and the centerpiece of the Mavericks' bold decision to trade away Luka Dončić. Davis played just nine regular-season games for the Mavericks last season due to injury, but Dallas should remain a Western Conference threat so long as he's on the court. Davis made second team all-NBA when he appeared in 76 games for the Lakers in 2023-24.

Last season's ranking: 11th

12. Cade Cunningham, guard, Detroit Pistons

2024-25 stats: 26.1 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 9.1 apg

Cunningham, who posted career-bests in points and assists, has blossomed into one of the league's top playmakers, scoring at will and passing to teammates who can finally make baskets. This is evident from the team's 30-win improvement from 2023-24 (which included a record 28-game losing streak) and a playoff appearance that ended a five-year drought.

Last season's ranking: not ranked

11. Jalen Brunson, guard, New York Knicks

2024-25 stats: 26.0 ppg, 2.9 apg, 7.3 rpg

Equipped with a range of crafty moves to work his way into the paint and blessed with a reliable left-handed shot, Brunson has been the engine in New York's revival as a contender in the East. Brunson, winner of the 2024-25 Clutch Player of the Year award, has thrived with the ball in his hands. But with new coach Mike Brown on the sideline, the Knicks may opt to diversify the offense a bit more, using Brunson in off-ball actions.

Last season's ranking: 12th

CLUTCH: Brunson, Knicks seek to exorcise NBA championship demons

10. Donovan Mitchell, guard, Cleveland Cavaliers

2024-25 stats: 24.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 5.0 apg

Mitchell is exactly what the Cavaliers needed when they acquired him ahead of the 2022-23 season. He has been an All-Star in six consecutive seasons and just led the Cavs to the best record in the Eastern Conference. He is an elite scorer with underrated MVP upside. When paired with the young defensive studs the Cavaliers have, it makes Mitchell's job that much easier.

Last season's ranking: 18th

9. Kevin Durant, forward, Houston Rockets

Forward Kevin Durant poses for a picture during Houston Rockets media day at Toyota Center on Sept. 29, 2025.

2024-25 stats: 26.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 4.2 apg

Durant finished sixth in the NBA in scoring (26.6) and minutes (36.5) per game while he was a member of the Phoenix Suns, but he missed 20 games last season. He was also named an All-Star for the 15th time in his professional career. Now with the Rockets, he joins a team that should highlight his silky mid-range jumper with a coach in Ime Udoka who knows how to maximize Durant's unicorn skill set.

Last season's ranking: 9th

8. LeBron James, forward, Los Angeles Lakers

2024-25 stats: 24.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 8.2 apg

James remains one of the NBA's top all-around offensive threats, particularly in transition, as he begins his record-breaking 23rd season. The 40-year-old was second-team All-NBA last year and will be playing for the Lakers on an expiring contract in 2025-26. His court vision and play-making has not waned, and he'll look to add to his remarkable all-time career scoring total of 42,184 points.

Last season's ranking: 8th

LEBRON: Gives retirement hints, and whether he will wait for son, Bryce

7. Victor Wembanyama, forward-center, San Antonio Spurs

2024-25 stats: 24.3 ppg, 11.0 rpg, 6.4 apg

When healthy, Wembanyama is the league's top defender and is starting to become a unique threat on offense as well. His shooting ability and range, at his size, is unlike anything the NBA has ever seen. If the Spurs can achieve anything this year – in this case, even sniff a playoff berth – this could mark the beginning of Wembanyama being in the MVP conversation for years to come.

Last season's ranking: 16th

6. Stephen Curry, guard, Golden State Warriors

2024-25 stats: 24.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 6.0 apg

The greatest shooter of all-time, Curry is a relentless hard-worker who is just as effective off the ball – sprinting all over the floor to work off screens and create separation – as he is with the rock in his hands. There's no shot he cannot make, but there are signs that Curry, 37, is slowing down. Removing the COVID-altered 2019-20 season, when he played only five games because of a broken left hand, Curry notched his fewest minutes per game (32.2) since 2011-12.

Last season's ranking: 7th

5. Anthony Edwards, guard, Minnesota Timberwolves

2024-25 stats: 27.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 4.5 apg

If the word "dawg" were to ever be truly accepted into the English vernacular, its definition would come alongside a picture of Edwards. The former No. 1 overall pick has finished seventh in MVP voting for the past two years, and he had a case for a higher placement after he increased his 3-point efficiency to a stellar 39.5% clip last season. He has been named an All-Star in three consecutive seasons and a member of the All-NBA second team two years in a row.

Last season's ranking: 10th

4. Luka Dončić, guard, Los Angeles Lakers

2024-25 stats: 28.2 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 7.7 apg

In a move that shocked the NBA, Dončić was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers in February. Dončić and the Lakers reached the first round of the playoffs but will be in search of accomplishing more this year. He has spent time during the offseason getting in shape and playing EuroLeague as part of his preparation for the upcoming season. Though he tends to be a ball-dominant player, Dončić is methodical in getting to his spots and scoring from all over the floor. But he's also an artist in the passing game, so his teammates need to be ready at all times for shot opportunities.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo, forward, Milwaukee Bucks

2024-25 stats: 30.4 ppg, 11.9 rpg, 6.5 apg

Antetokounmpo remains perhaps the league's best two-way weapon entering his 13th season and earned first-team All-NBA honors for the seventh year in a row in 2024-25. The two-time MVP set a career high for assists in 2024-25 and shot better than 60% from the field for the second consecutive season (he's the only player in NBA history to do that while averaging more than 30 points per game).

HOW COMMITTED IS GIANNIS TO BUCKS? NBA star, owner offer different takes

2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, guard, Oklahoma City Thunder

2024-25 stats: 32.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 6.4 apg

It's a rarity that the league's leading scorer and reigning MVP is not at the top of this list, but Gilgeous-Alexander more than earned his worth after leading the Thunder to their first NBA championship; and he was rewarded with a four-year, $285 million supermax extension. He seemingly glides across the floor, is never hurried and is one of the most consistent scorers in the NBA.

Last season's ranking: 4th

1. Nikola Jokić, center, Denver Nuggets

2024-25 stats: 29.6 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 10.2 apg

Three players – Jokić, Gilgeous-Alexander and Antetokounmpo – received at least one first-place vote, but it was Jokić who ran away with the top spot on this list, drawing 10 first-place selections from the panel. Jokić, 30, has finished first or second in MVP voting in each of the last five seasons, with three awards. He became just the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double in a single season, joining Oscar Robertson (1961-62) and Jokić 's teammate from last year, Russell Westbrook (four times). He is the best passing big in the world and draws so much defensive attention, which creates scoring chances for his teammates. He shines in the clutch, has unparalleled footwork in the post and has an unconventional shot that has become wildly efficient. Jokić set career highs last season in 3-point attempts (4.7) and conversions (2.0) per game and 3-point shooting percentage (41.7%).

Last season's ranking: 1st

SINGAPORE (AP) — This week's Singapore Grand Prix has officially been declared a "heat hazard," meaning cars must carry cooling equipment. It's the first time the rule has been used in Formula 1.

Race director Rui Marques declared a heat hazard on Thursday because the temperature is forecast to be above 31 degrees (88 F) during the race weekend. The temperature in the F1 website forecast for Saturday is 32 C, rising to 33 C on Sunday.

Under new rules for 2025, governing body the FIA introduced cooling vests for drivers which pump fluid around a network of tubes in the vest.

Drivers don't have to use the system but can't save weight by leaving it out.

Even drivers who don't wear the vest must have some cooling system equipment fitted in the car, along with ballast to compensate for the weight of the vest.

The FIA started work on cooling technology for drivers after the Qatar Grand Prix in 2023 saw drivers require medical attention after feeling unwell in the heat.

Singapore is a notoriously tough race for F1 drivers because of the heat and humidity on the street circuit, even though the race is held at night. In the past, F1 drivers have said the Singapore heat makes their in-car drinking water supplies uncomfortable to drink, some likening it to hot tea.

English golfer Tyrell Hatton has underlined that insults are not "the way forward" when it comes to fan behavior at the Ryder Cup, several days after his victory with Team Europe.

The language used by American fans towards European players at Bethpage Black became a flashpoint during last weekend's tournament, which Europe won 15-13 after staving off a dramatic US fightback on Sunday.

Players were subjected to verbal abuse and personal insults while on the course in Farmingdale, New York, with European talisman Rory McIlroy saying that "a lot of the language was unacceptable."

That also extended to the players' families, with Irishman Shane Lowry adding that McIlroy's wife, Erica, had received an "astonishing" amount of abuse.

The event's master of ceremonies, Heather McMahan, even stepped down and apologized after leading the fans in a chant of "f**k you, Rory" with a live microphone.

Asked on Wednesday about how European fans should behave during the 2027 Ryder Cup at Ireland's Adare Manor, Hatton told reporters: "If it was my choice, and obviously what I say isn't really going to affect how people behave, but I don't really think that the insults are the way forward.

"I would much prefer it to be a respectful atmosphere. You let the guys play and the best team wins, rather than trying to affect the outcome by trying to put off players or things like that. But I don't think it will be as hostile as maybe it was last week. I'd like to think that it will be very respectful."

Hatton also disagreed with comments from US captain Keegan Bradley that the atmosphere at Bethpage was similar to Rome for the 2023 Ryder Cup.

While admitting that he wasn't in Rome two years ago, Bradley went as far as to say that he heard the atmosphere there had been "pretty violent" in response to a question from CNN Sports' Don Riddell.

"Personally, I don't think that they were close at all," Hatton said ahead of appearing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this week. "With what I heard last week, I don't think Rome comes anywhere near that … I think they are quite far apart to be honest."

Hatton's European teammate Matt Fitzpatrick also said on Wednesday that it "was just never the case" that the atmosphere in Rome was comparable to what he experienced in New York.

Fitpatrick added that he felt there was "a little bit of bitterness" shown by PGA of America president Don Rea towards Europe's players during Sunday's trophy presentation. The PGA of America is a co-organizer of the Ryder Cup, alongside Ryder Cup Europe.

"Me and Rosey (Justin Rose) both looked at each other as if to say, that wasn't a very heartfelt congratulations, I know that," said Fitzpatrick. "He said we only retained (the trophy) and actually we won it."

CNN Sports has contacted the PGA of America for a response.

In an interview with the Golf Channel, PGA of America CEO Derek Sprague said that there is "no place" for the behavior displayed by some American fans at the Ryder Cup, adding that he plans to send an apology to McIlroy and wife Erica for what they were subjected to during the tournament.
