The bodies of a 33-year-old man and his dog were recovered from the lake at Eleven Mile State Park over the weekend, Colorado officials said.

Authorities recovered the body of Zachary Gursky at Eleven Mile State Park just before midnight on Friday, Aug. 1, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Park County Coroner's Office news releases.

Gursky and two other people had been out paddleboarding on the lake late Friday evening when a large windstorm rolled through the park, according to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife news release. One person wearing a life jacket was able to swim to shore and another, also wearing a life jacket and tethered to the paddleboard, was recovered. Gursky was not wearing a life jacket.

Gursky's death remains under investigation, based on the Park County Coroner's Office's latest news release.

A change of venue was not the cure for what's ailing the New York Yankees.

But help is on the way. Manager Aaron Boone announced Monday after an 8-5 loss to the Texas Rangers that Aaron Judge will return to the lineup Tuesday after missing 10 games with a flexor strain in his right elbow. Judge is expected to play designated hitter until he's cleared to return to his spot in the outfield.

Prior to Boone's announcement, the Yankees lost in heartbreaking fashion in extra innings.

Yankees blow lead, lose on walk-off

The Yankees struck first with a leadoff home run by Paul Goldschmidt, then took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the second inning. But the Rangers batted around in the second to take a 4-3 lead.

The Yankees retook the lead and held a 5-4 advantage heading into the bottom of the ninth. There, pinch hitter Joc Pederson sent it to extras.

With the bases empty and one out, Pederson launched a 2-1 Devin Williams changeup over the plate into the right-field stands to tie the game at 5-5.

The blown save was the third of the season for Williams, a two-time All-Star and lights-out closer with the Milwaukee Brewers. With Pederson's home run, Williams' ERA in his first season in New York inflated to 5.10.

The blast set up Josh Jung for his 10th-inning heroics.

With a man on second and two outs, the Yankees intentionally walked Wyatt Langford to get to Jung in the six slot. Reliever Jake Bird left a 1-1 sinker thigh-high and just inside that Jung turned on. The result was a no-doubt home run into the left-field stands that ended the game.

Yankees in free fall, face critical games vs. Rangers

The loss was the Yankees' fourth straight following an unprecedented three-game sweep at the hands of the Miami Marlins. They're now 7-10 since the All-Star break.

The defeat dropped the once first-place Yankees to 60-53, 5.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East and 2.5 games behind the rival Boston Red Sox, who won their sixth straight game Monday night. It also left them with a 1.5-game cushion over the Rangers and in a tie with the Seattle Mariners for the last wild-card spot in the American League.

This three-game series against the Rangers could end up proving critical for the postseason standings, and it's already going bad for New York.

Can Judge help Yankees turn things around?

Judge hasn't played since July 25 with the elbow injury that landed him on the injured list. He took batting practice over the weekend and will return to the lineup Tuesday on his first day of eligibility.

As the Yankees face a multitude of problems, Judge's return can't come soon enough.

Michael Soroka exited his Chicago Cubs debut after two innings on Monday, and the right-hander is headed for the injured list because of right shoulder soreness.

Manager Craig Counsell announced postgame that the team would replace the newcomer on the roster.

"Look, you feel bad for Michael first and just hope that there's just some discomfort there and a couple weeks can take care of it," Counsell said. "That's where we're at. We're going to have to wait to get more information before we know what we're dealing with."

Soroka said he was fine until, in the second inning, he "went to go put a little extra on a fastball and it grabbed me a little bit."

He didn't think the issue is related to the decreased fastball velocity he experienced in July before the Washington Nationals traded him to the Cubs on Thursday in exchange for two minor league prospects, outfielder Christian Franklin and infielder Ronny Cruz.

"There was no reason to believe there was anything wrong," Soroka said.

Soroka, pitching Monday on his 28th birthday, allowed just one hit, a solo home run by Tyler Stephenson. Ben Brown took over on the mound to start the third, and the Cubs went on to lose 3-2.

Through 17 starts this year, Soroka is 3-8 with a 4.86 ERA.

The other starting pitcher in the Monday game, Cincinnati left-hander Nick Lodolo, left the contest early due to a blister on his left index finger.

With two outs in the bottom of the second inning, Lodolo motioned to the Reds' dugout after throwing a first-pitch strike to Justin Turner. Nick Martinez then replaced Lodolo on the mound.

Lodolo retired all five batters he faced, striking out one. The 27-year-old has pitched a career-high 129 2/3 innings pitched, compiling an 8-6 record and a 3.05 ERA.

Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was released from Los Angeles County jail on Monday, Aug. 4 after Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office decided not to file criminal charges following Perryman's arrest on weapons violation charges, online records show.

Perryman, 32, was stopped Friday, Aug. 1 by South Los Angeles Station deputies for vehicle code violations, authorities said, and during a search deputies discovered five firearms in Perryman's vehicle, two of which were assault style rifles.

"He was arrested and booked on weapons violation charges and was cooperative with deputies," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

Perryman was being held without bail at the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station and was scheduled to appear at Inglewood Court on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

But he was released from jail Monday after the District Attorney's Office decided not to press charges.

Perryman is in his second stint with the Chargers, having played for them from 2015, when he was a second-round pick by the team when they were in San Diego, until 2020. Perryman also played for the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans before returning to the Chargers for the 2024 season. Perryman started all 11 games he played in last season.

LONDON (AP) — Former Arsenal soccer player Thomas Partey was granted conditional bail on Tuesday after appearing in court charged with five counts of rape.

The 32-year-old midfielder, who has also been charged with one count of sexual assault, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court, London. The alleged offenses, between 2021-22, relate to three women.

The conditions of Partey's bail include that he cannot contact any of the women and must notify police of any permanent changes of address or international travel.

Partey is a free agent after his contract at Arsenal expired at the end of June. He is reportedly set to join Spanish team Villarreal.

"I understand he's no longer employed in this country and playing in Spain now," chief magistrate Paul Goldspring said.

Partey arrived at court wearing a dark zip up sweater and carrying a suit jacket. In court, he stood with his arms behind his back in the dock.

His lawyer Jenny Wiltshire previously said he "denies all the charges against him" and that he welcomed "the opportunity to finally clear his name".

Police said the investigation was opened in February 2022 when it first received a report of rape. Partey was charged July 4 — days after his Arsenal contract expired.

He is due to appear at the Old Bailey Sept. 2.

Brandi Glanville scalds her face with Nair in 2025, and appears on a recent episode of 'Watch What Happens Live'

Brandi Glanville has encountered another dead end in her battle against an aggressive facial parasite.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared a startling video to her TikTok on Sunday in which the lower half of her face appeared badly burned. "I know I look attractive," she joked.

"Good news! You don't have to spend a lot of money on peels and lasers anymore," she explained, tongue in cheek. "I decided to put Nair on my face, because when I have an exfoliated face, it pisses Caroline off, or whoever's living in my face right here, and right there, and then she moved up here when I did the Nair," she said, pointing to different areas of her face and referring to the name she has given to the parasite.

Glanville has been chronicling her battle against the facial parasite since December, but believes she contracted the bug back in July 2023 while filming a season of Bravo's Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip in Morocco. One of her costars on that trip, Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Caroline Manzo, accused Glanville of unwanted sexual contact and later sued Bravo, prompting the network to shelve the season and Glanville to threaten a lawsuit of her own against it.

"So, Nair is the fountain of youth. I figured it out, but I overdid it. Seven minutes - don't do it," she continued, referring to the hair removal product which takes as its name a portmanteau for "No Hair."

In the caption of her post, Glanville continued to elaborate on her failed offensive against the parasite: "Beauty hacks (this is a good one but do a test patch) did 7 minutes and im on fire [so] don't do 7 minutes it also burned the loose skin off my arms & its 7 dollars 😎 Mix up some aloe vera, cucumber and black tea put it in the freezer put it in the spray bottle and once it's cold enough spray all day cause I'm in some pain."

In February, Glanville shared a worrying update on her parasite journey - a video of the reality star violently shaking while hooked up to an "emphatic drainage machine," likely meaning "lymphatic drainage machine," a device purported to reduce swelling, aid in blood circulation, and help with weight loss.

Glanville shouted out Terry Dubrow, the celebrity plastic surgeon and husband of Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow, who Glanville enlisted to help diagnose and cure her facial woes, and vowed to "shake for the rest of my life if this thing gets out of my body."

Michael Douglas Finally Responds to Sharon Stone's Claims About On-Set Tension originally appeared on Parade.

More than 30 years after the groundbreaking film Basic Instinct hit theaters, its seductive star has shared new insight into her experience alongside her Academy Award-winning co-star.

Sharon Stone, who stole the show as the ice pick-wielding Catherine Tramell, recently spoke to Business Insider about how her first stages of joining the project, which were marked by a unique rapport — or perhaps lack thereof — with Michael Douglas.

In her interview published Aug. 1, the Oscar-nominated actress, 67, begins by explaining how Douglas, now 80, was initially hesitant to sign on to Basic Instinct because "he did not want to put his bare ass out on the screen with an unknown — and I understood that. He wouldn't even test with me, but that was also for a different reason: We had an argument prior to that."

The argument, she tells Business Insider, stems from an alleged incident that took place at the Cannes Film Festival.

"A bunch of us were all sitting, and [Douglas] was talking about someone and their kids. I really, really knew this person he was talking about," Stone said. "So I said something and he responded to me, saying, 'What the f--- do you know?' It was in regard to a father-child relationship. Clearly, it triggered him."

Stone continued, "So he screams this at me across a whole group of people. And I'm not the person who goes, 'Oh, excuse me, superstar.' I pushed back my chair and said to him, 'Let's step outside.' That's how we first met."

Now, days after Stone's Business Insider interview surfaced, Douglas' team has issued a new statement in regards to Stone's anecdote about their first encounter.

"A rep for Douglas says in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE that the actor 'was very surprised' by Stone's quotes, as he doesn't remember even meeting her until her screen test," the magazine reported Monday.
