Save this story Save Story Save this story If you’d told me even a month ago we’d get significant spoilers for The Batman: Part II , the next Robert Pattinson -led Batman movie, in a photo Heidi Klum posted for her annual Halloween costume, I would find that both weirdly specific and entirely unbelievable.
And yet, that looks to be exactly what happened this past weekend when prosthetics supplier The Makeup Armoury posted BTS photos of the work prosthetics expert Mike Marino (who also worked to transform Colin Farrell into The Penguin for the first film and subsequent HBO Max series) was doing for Klum. If you’ve somehow been off-grid for the last few years, you may have missed that the famed supermodel takes Halloween incredibly seriously, frequently donning costumes with extensive makeup and designs that make her unrecognizable. This year was no exception, but it might have gone largely unnoticed had that photo not accidentally revealed clues about the upcoming superhero sequel, which is currently in production with an expected release date of February 18th, 2028.
In the photo, Marino, who provided a helping, ahem, hand in Klum’s costume together for the year, had a number of molds lingering in the background, which have seemingly confirmed that B rian Tyree Henry will play Two-Face, Sebastian Stan will play Victor Zsasz, and that Part II will feature the famed Court of Owls.
Henry’s mold appears to show the Atlanta actor with a disfigured face that mimics the iconic villain. Some, including me, in this very outlet, have, speculated that he might be playing either Dent or Detective Harvey Bullock, a hardened Gotham City cop who frequently works alongside Jim Gordon. But this seems to confirm it. Considering writer-director Matt Reeves has cited Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s The Long Halloween as an influence on his version of the Caped Crusader, it’s not ultimately a huge surprise, but perhaps a slight disappointment considering Reeves had stated his intention to move the sequel into uncharted territory by featuring a villain that had “ never really been done in a film before .”
Which brings us to Victor Zsasz, who Stan seems to be playing. There was some speculation when he shaved his head upon joining the production he might be playing the character, but the cast looks to confirm the speculation. While the serial killer—who carves tally marks into his body for every person he’s killed—shows up in Batman Begins as a minor enforcer in Carmine Falcone’s crew, he’s got a much larger role in the comic books themselves. In Long Halloween , Zsasz is hired by Falcone to assassinate Dent before he's intercepted by Batman. Might Reeves look to flip the script here and disfigure Henry’s Dent in the process? This interpretation of Zsasz would certainly fit the extremely grounded approach Reeves took in the first installment. But there’s also some confusion here, as Stan was rumored to be playing Harvey when casting first broke and even went so far as to say he’d be playing the role in an interview over the summer. The French publication Le Journal du Dimanche did, however, later retract his statement.
The last accidental spoiler is a big scoop for comic book fans. Simply labeled “Owl 3,” this likely confirms that the Court of Owls will finally make their silver-screen debut. Created in 2012 by writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo, the Owls are one of the biggest new additions to the Batman canon in recent memory. The Court is a clandestine criminal society made up of Gotham’s wealthiest and most influential citizens, whose power and influence stretch back to the city’s earliest days. They have immeasurable resources and frequently deploy assassins, known as Talons, to do their bidding. This tracks with the story Reeves told in The Batman of a Gotham beset by a history of corruption. Owls are also bats' natural predators; so that, too, is bad news for Battinson.
While this potential leak is exciting and unexpected, it also raises doubts about the identity of Scarlett Johansson’s character, as she was rumored to be playing Harvey’s wife, Gilda Dent. Either way, never in a million lifetimes could we have guessed that Heidi Klum would be the one to spill the beans about one of the most anticipated comic book movies of the next few years.
