Rachael Ray has been sharing her tips and tricks for women going through menopause, explaining how it’s really important to have “lots of color in your diet.”
The former Food Network star spoke to People about Dr. Ian Smith’s new book, The New Menopause Kitchen, to which she contributed more than 50 recipes. Ray opened up about her own experiences with menopause while sharing advice and healthy eating tips.
“I have no menopausal signs of any kind,” she told the outlet. “My sister’s the same way. She’s 67. She never had them either. I’ve always had an easy time, just in life, when it comes to that kind of stuff.”
Ray said she follows her “doctor’s advice on hormone replacement,” but for other women, the celebrity cook said it’s important to eat “as healthfully as possible.”
“You eat lots of color in your diet, which means you’re getting lots of the right vitamins without the need of supplements,” she said, though she admitted, “I do take supplements also.”
Ray noted that her husband, John Cusimano, is “a nut for supplements,” sharing, “He goes into the bathroom; he’s in there like 40 minutes. He’s got to take all his little pills and he has more face creams than I do. But it works for him. Whatever makes you happy.”
“I think that that’s a big part to life,” she added. “Are you eating a colorful diet and are you happy? Do you try and get up with purpose every day? I think that helps everyone, male and female.”

Ray revealed that the fruit and veg she and Cusimano consume usually come from their own garden. “We grow everything,” she stated. “We have four garden beds and it depends on the season. This time of year, of course, we have all of the dark greens and all of our squash, all different sizes of orange squash, and zucchini is still there, eggplant’s still there.”
The update comes after fan concerns about Ray’s health over the past couple of years. Fans had previously worried about Ray’s health after a September 2024 video in which some viewers thought she was slurring her speech. She later shared on her I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead podcast that she’d suffered a “couple bad falls.”
Ray responded to speculation that she’d disappeared from the public eye in October 2025 due to health concerns. In an interview with Us Weekly, she said, “I don’t know what they’re talking about. I work my ass off all the time. And I never left. I just switched over to A+E and new partners, that’s all. But I’ve been working constantly.”
The famous chef hosts several shows across A&E and FYI, including Rachael Ray’s Meals in Minutes, Rachael Ray in Tuscany, and Rachael Ray’s Holidays.
