Just three weeks after Caitlin Clark and her teammates were eliminated in the first round, the Fever announced that team president Kelly Krauskopf would be stepping down.

The team then posted a quote from team owner Herb Simon commenting on Krauskopf's exit. Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that Clark had apparently "liked" the post on Instagram. Sure enough, the reactions poured in, with some fans speculating that Fever coach Stephanie White might also be shown the door.

"Haha @caitlinclark22 approves bye bye Stephanie White," one fan tweeted .

Krauskopf, who played college basketball at Texas A&M, was the Fever's first-ever president and general manager when the team entered the WNBA in 2000. Over the next 18 years, the team went on a 12-year playoff streak, culminating in 2012 when a Tamika Catchings-led squad won the WNBA title.

After six years as the Indiana Pacers' assistant general manager, Krauskopf returned to the Fever in 2024 as president of basketball and business operations. Though Krauskopf has a proven track record, she reportedly told the Fever about her decision to step down before the season ended .

Krauskopf wasn't the only Fever executive to make headlines on Friday. Hours after the Krauskopf news broke, IndyStar reported that the team was firing GM Amber Cox.

"Indiana Fever will search for a GM to build around Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark, facing big decisions this offseason," IndyStar tweeted .

During Cox's first season with the Fever, her mettle as GM was tested as the team dealt with multiple season-ending injuries to players like Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham. To Cox's credit, the players that she signed to hardship contracts (such as Aari McDonald and Odyssey Sims) helped the team stay afloat and even advance to the second round of the 2025 playoffs.

This season, however, Cox's roster construction has come under even more scrutiny as a high-octane Fever squad ultimately fell short against the Aces in the first round. Now, her successor will have to decide whether to extend Clark's contract and re-sign Mitchell.
