PresidentDonald Trumpreceived a mix of cheers and boos during the national championship game between Indiana University and the University of Miami.
Trump was shown on screens at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, during the National Anthem on Jan. 19.
The president's appearance also received a mixed response from fans attending a watch party at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Indiana University's Bloomington campus.
Trump made news over the long weekend for hisincreasing focus on buying Greenland, declaring new tariffs will be imposed on eight European countries unless the United States can do so.
Trump has attended many sporting events since returning to office a year ago, including the Daytona 500 and the U.S. Open tennis finals. His appearance at the finals match at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York last fallalso met with boos.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a Miami native, was expected to attend Monday's game with Trump.
Other politicians attending the game include Indiana Gov. Mike Braun.
