Sabrina Carpenter pulled double duty as host and musical guest on *Saturday Night Live* this week, and one of her performances got a bit naughty.
Depending on where you watched Saturday's episode, you either heard the sound drop out twice during Carpenter's second musical performance or you heard the Grammy winner drop dual F-bombs while singing "Nobody's Son" from her new album, *Man's Best Friend.***
The song contains the lyric "He sure f---ed me up" repeated twice during the bridge. Carpenter, dressed in a rhinestone-clad mini karate robe, sang the line uncensored on the show.
Those viewing live on Peacock or in later time zones on NBC heard the word loud and clear. However, the audio feed quickly dropped out on the West Coast broadcast.
The reason for this is that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the government agency in charge of regulating television and radio, prohibits obscene content, including profanity, on broadcast TV between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., "when there is a reasonable risk that children may be in the audience."
During her earlier performance of the song "Manchild," Carpenter changed a lyric in the chorus to sing "F my life" instead of the full curse word.

*SNL*, which begins at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT, generally doesn't risk the hefty FCC fine and instead choses to avoid including profanity on the show, and it has even reportedly fired or banned some cast members or guests who have slipped up in the past.
Prince, Steven Tyler, Morris Day, Michael Stipe, Beastie Boys, System of a Down, and the Strokes are just some of the musical guests who have said the F-word on *SNL *in the past.**
For years, cast member Jenny Slate was thought to have gotten the boot after just one season on the show for accidentally saying the F-word in 2009. However, the actress cleared things up in an interview with *InStyle* a decade later.
"By the way, everyone always thinks I got fired for saying f---: I didn't. That's not why I got fired," she told the outlet. "I just didn't belong there. I didn't do a good job, I didn't click. I have no idea how Lorne [Michaels] felt about me. All I know is, it didn't work for me, and I got fired."

Carpenter made no mention of dropping the dirty words during the show's goodnights. The episode marked the former *Girl Meets World* star's first time as host and second appearance as musical guest. She is the first to do double duty on season 51.
After a brief hiatus, *Saturday Night Live* will return on Nov. 1 with host Miles Teller and musical guest Brandi Carlile. Other upcoming hosts include Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell.
