The wife of Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen has spoken out after footage of an unfortunate moment with a fan went viral.
After Allen, 33, scored a game-tying touchdown in the Chargers' win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 21, the wide receiver was seen pointing to his wife, Ciandra, indicating he would throw her the ball.
But when Allen over to Ciandra, who was excitedly cheering and holding a cardboard cutout of her husband's head, a fan appeared to intercept the throw and snatch the football away. Allen looked frustrated, but had to return to his teammates and focus on the game.

Social media users were upset by the moment, with one posting the video and writing on X, "HE BETTER HAVE GIVEN THAT BALL BACK TO KEENANS WIFE WTF!!!!"
In a response to that post, Ciandra confirmed that the fan made it right, in the end.
"I got the ball," she said, explaining, "the camera didn't show right after that lol."
In a now-expired Instagram Story, captured in screenshots by the New York Post, Ciandra said, "No he didn't take the football from me!", and said the fan came over to her and her son to apologize twice after the incident. "We have it safe," Ciandra confirmed.
Allen and Ciandra married on June 18, 2022. The couple shares three children: Kamari, Kaliyah, and a third child born in January whose name has not been revealed.

The Chargers ultimately defeated the Broncos 23-20 at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, thanks to Allen and quarterback Justin Herbert.
Next, the Los Angeles will travel to New York to take on the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 28.
